Biography

Roberto Pisano is graduated in Chemical Engineering cum laude in 2005 at Politecnico di Torino, and got a PhD from the same university in 2009. He was Visiting Scholar at Centre de Resources Technologiques – Institut Technique Agro-Industrial (France) in 2008. Since July 2011 Roberto Pisano is Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Torino, where he is responsible for teaching at the undergraduate level Process Dynamics and Control, and lecturer of Transport Phenomena for the Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. His research interests focus on process modeling and optimization of chemical processes with complex dynamics, as well as on the design and validation of model-based systems for process monitoring and control. In particular, Roberto Pisano developed and validated various tools for the monitoring, design and control of the freeze-drying process, as well as for the scale-up of cycles developed with laboratory equipment in large scale apparatus. Lately, he also started working on the application of e-beam radiation as post-treatment for freeze-dried products, and on the controlled release of gas through molecular encapsulation. Roberto Pisano is author of 23 papers on international peer reviewed journals, 4 book chapters, 4 patents, and various proceeding of international conferences.
