Biography
Prapaipat Klungsupya completed PhD in Molecular Biology on DNA Damage & Repair from University of Wales Swansea, United Kingdom in 2001. She is currently a Research Expert who is leading the Genetic Toxicology Laboratory (GTL) at the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR).The GTL offers 4 short term tests (STTs) to detect mutagenic/carcinogenic properties of drugs and chemicals using the chromosomal aberration, micronuclues, comet (single cell gel electrophoresis) and p53 polymerase inhibition assays. Her recent research work focuses on assessing the mitochondrial toxicity and telomere assay to understand ageing mechanism in human cells.
